Our founder, Doyle Graham, Jr., was born into hospitality.
His father, a pioneer in the modern hospitality industry following World War II, worked in some of the most iconic mid-century hotels in the US. In those days, hotel general managers often lived on property.
During his childhood at The Galvez Hotel in Galveston, Texas, he built relationships with everyone in the hotel, from bellhops and housekeepers to engineers, concierges, and chefs. Doyle learned firsthand what it means to welcome.
As a young adult traveling the world, Doyle fell in love with curated hospitality of Valencia, Spain, and old world Europe.
He envisioned a hotel of his own that conjured the warmth and character of old world European hospitality.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Today, Valencia Collection is an independent growing collection of soulful hotels, each inspired by the energy, culture, and stories of the place it calls home.
Perhaps Doyle’s, and Valencia’s, true gift is awakening the spirit of welcome that resides within each of us.
For us, hospitality is the most human of art forms: hands, hearts, minds, and spirits aligned, inviting the world in.
